Tour de Branch: The Challenge

In June 2019, a team of colleagues from across RS Components will be embarking on the biggest challenge in RS history.

Cycling from our RS Local branch in Aberdeen to our London HQ, we’ll be covering a total of 1,100 miles, along real roads, visiting every single RS Local branch along the way; that’s 16 in total!

As well as being a physical challenge of epic proportions, this will also be the largest single fundraising event we’ve ever undertaken, and we want to raise a whopping £250,000 for Children with Cancer UK.

Our biggest charity event ever

Why are we doing this?

We’ve been supporting Children with Cancer UK for nearly two years now and have already achieved some remarkable things as individuals, as teams, and as a business. Our colleagues have run marathons, climbed mountains, swam, cycled, danced and baked their way to raising an incredible amount of money so far, but there’s still so much more we can do.

Children with Cancer UK have a vision: to live in a world where no child dies from cancer. It may sound impossible, but since the charity was launched 30 years ago, the survival rate has increased from 64% to 84% in 2017, and that’s all thanks to the specialist research the charity have invested in.

Every single penny we raise really does make a real difference, and that’s the reason behind this mammoth challenge. No matter how you choose to get involved, you’ll be helping us achieve our goal: helping Children with Cancer UK realise their vision and keep families together.

Phoebe's Story

Phoebe, a mini-ambassador for Children with Cancer UK, was diagnosed with cancer shortly before her second birthday. Her mum, Laura, tells their story.

How can I get involved?

Children with Cancer UK is the leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer. Almost 4,500 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. Their aim is to determine the causes, find cures and provide care for children with cancer.
